SHAHEED-E-AZAM BHAGAT SINGH STATE YOUTH AWARD
 
Introduction of Award
With a view to give recognition to the outstanding work done by young persons (between the age of 15 to 35 years) involved in the maintenance and promotion of National Integration & Communal Harmony as we as in the field of development/social service and to provide them a challenge to achieve excellence in these fields.
GENERAL PROVISION OF THE AWARD:
Punjab Govt. instituted State Youth Award after the name of great martyr of the country Shaheed-E-Azam Sardar Bhagat Singh. Under this Scheme, two awards per district to the eligible youth are given every year. Each award comprises of a medal, a scroll and Rs. 10,000-/ in cash.
Selection Procedure:
  • District Level: District Level Selection Committee constituted under the chairmanship of deputy commissioner recommends the names of eligible youth of the district Assistant Director, Youth Services of the District acts as members’ secretary.
  • State Level: The final authority to select the awardees is the State Selection Committee constituted under the Chairmanship of Chief Secretary.
